3) There click on the “Genuine Windows Validation, Alternate Method” web link under “Alternate Validation Method” that is located at the bottom of the web page.
4) You will be taken to: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/exeValidation2.aspx?familyId=6ebcfad9-d3f5-4365-8070-334cd175d4bb&displayLang=en which has two steps; “Run the validation tool” and “Enter the validation code”.
5) Click on the “Continue” button for the first step. A small window appears where you need to click on “Save” button. You will be taken to a new window to save the file named as “GenuineCheck”. Then download takes place.
6) Go to the location where you saved the file “GenuineCheck” and double click on it. You will get a small window named “Windows Genuine Advantage” which contains the WGA code of 8 digits. Click on the “Copy to Clipboard” button and close the window.
7) Then go back to the window mentioned in the 4th step and paste the 8 digit WGA code by right clicking on the box and finally click on “Validate” button.
