Placing Internet Explorer 7 icon on the desktop and in the Start menu

Please follow the below steps to place Internet Explorer 7 shortcut icon on the desktop:

1) Right click on an empty area and click on "New" option.
2) Then select "Shortcut" option from the list.
3) A small window will be displayed. Copy and paste the following line as it is "C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe" in the "Type the location of the item:" box and click on Next button.
4) Then click on Finish button.

A shortcut icon will be placed on the desktop for Internet Explorer 7.

To place Internet Explorer 7 in the Start menu, please follow the below steps:

1) Right click on an empty area on the Task bar.
2) Select "Properties" option. You will find a window named "Taskbar and Start Menu Properties" with different tabs like: Taskbar, Startmenu, Notification Area, Toolbars.
3) Click on "Start Menu" tab option. Select "Start menu" option again and click on "Customize..." button.
4) You will find a new window named "Customize Start Menu". Under "Show on Start menu" frame, click inside the small square located next to "Internet link:". Then click on "OK" button. Then again click on "OK" button on the new window you find.

You can also follow the below steps to place an icon for Internet Explorer 7 in the Start menu:

1) Right click on an empty area on the Task bar.
2) Select "Properties" option. You will find a window named "Taskbar and Start Menu Properties" with different tabs like: Taskbar, Startmenu, Notification Area, Toolbars.
3) Select "Classic Start menu" option and click on "Customize" button.
4) Click on "Add" button. Paste "C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe" in the "Type the location of the item:" box and click on Next button.
5) A new window named "Create Shortcut" will be displayed. Click on "Start Menu" and click on "Next" and click on "Finish". An icon will be displayed in the Start menu.
6) Now again follow steps 1 and 2 and then finally select "Start Menu" option from "Start Menu" frame.
7) Click on "Apply" and finally "OK".
